Zenvo Automotive has pulled the cover off the beating heart of its Aurora hypercar, and it’s called Mjølner. Yes, like the hammer. And appropriately, it’s a sledgehammer of an engine – a 6.6-litre quad-turbocharged V12 producing a thunderous 1250bhp, with redlines stretching all the way to 9800rpm.
That’s before the hybrid system joins in with 600bhp from three electric motors. Total output? 1850bhp. You’ll want to hold on to your helmet.
Engineered Fury
-
Built in collaboration with Mahle, this V12 uses a “jet ignition” tech instead of traditional spark plugs
-
All four turbos are nestled inside the V for compact packaging
-
The Mjølner runs on synthetic fuel and meets strict EU emissions norms
-
And yes, it's modular, expect potential V6 and V8 versions in future projects
Two Auroras, Both Frightening
Zenvo will offer two versions of the Aurora hypercar:
-
An all-wheel-drive variant with the full 1850bhp and lots of carbon fibre
-
A rear-wheel-drive track version with a bit less electric shove, but more tyre-frying fun
Both will be built on a lightweight carbon-fibre chassis, designed to contain all that Norse madness within something that doesn’t explode or melt.
The Catch? Only the Worthy Need Apply
The price tag? Nearly ₹25 crore, give or take import duties and taxes. So, unless you’ve got a vibranium vault or a Marvel royalty cheque lying around, this one might remain in the realm of fantasy.
Still, Mjølner sets a wild new benchmark for V12s. And if the modular trickle-down works, who knows, your next Zenvo-inspired V6 sports coupe might just carry the soul of Thor’s hammer under the bonnet.
