Tata Safari Adventure X+ launched at Rs 19.99 lakh: Replaces three variants, adds new kit

The Tata Safari has been on a bit of a decluttering spree. Gone are the days when you had to choose between an Adventure, Adventure+, or Adventure+A. Instead, there’s now a single, rather decisive option: the Safari Adventure X+. It’s priced at Rs 19.99 lakh (ex-showroom), which is precisely where the outgoing Adventure variant left off. Tata’s clearly favouring simplicity this time.

Positioned just beneath the top-tier Accomplished trim, the Adventure X+ consolidates three old variants into one, while still keeping the features list robust. The rest of the Safari line-up follows suit, adopting similar ‘X’ suffixed names to streamline the entire catalogue. The Harrier range has undergone a similar reshuffle, for those wondering.

Adventure X+ Price Breakdown

For Rs 19.99 lakh, you get the manual version of the Adventure X+, while the automatic will set you back by Rs 21.69 lakh. That’s quite competitive considering the top-spec Accomplished X+ 7-seater is priced over Rs 5 lakh higher. Tata is also throwing in introductory prices until October 31, 2025, which is their subtle way of saying “buy it now”.

Dark Editions, should you fancy a more brooding look, cost an additional Rs 65,000. The even stealthier Stealth Editions will ask for Rs 75,000 more, which is perhaps what you'd expect to pay for the privilege of being invisible in traffic jams.

Same Engine, Smarter Safari

Under the bonnet remains the familiar 2.0-litre diesel engine, producing 170 bhp and 350 Nm of torque. You have the choice between a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. So far, so Safari.

However, the big news is the Level 2 ADAS suite, now available — albeit only on the automatic version. If you prefer your Safari to handle some of the thinking for you, that’s the one to get.

Features that Actually Matter

The Adventure X+ retains fan favourites like the Supernova Copper paint job, 18-inch alloy wheels, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and the obligatory panoramic sunroof. But Tata has sweetened the deal with new additions like a 360-degree camera, a 6-way powered driver’s seat with memory function, automatic headlights and wipers, and of course, that Level 2 ADAS system.

Inside, you’ll find ‘Adventure Oak’ leatherette upholstery. It’s brown, it’s exclusive, and it gives the cabin a rather outdoorsy tone without needing to be hosed down after every trip.

Safari Simplified, Adventure Amplified

In summary, the Adventure X+ takes a “less is more” approach — fewer variants, more kit, and a price tag that stays grounded. It’s a logical move, really. Rather like tidying up your garage and finding that you’ve now got space for all your camping gear, and perhaps even a few gadgets that can park the car for you.
