Tata Motors has introduced two new variants of the Harrier today: the Adventure X and Adventure X Plus, with prices starting at Rs 18.99 lakh for the manual variant and ranging up to Rs 21.04 lakh for the automatic variant. These X-badged versions now replace the older Adventure trims, trimming prices by up to Rs 55,000 in the process.
The changes are not earth-shattering, but they are quite sensible. Think of it as Tata giving the Harrier a wardrobe update and a slight reshuffle in its trim structure, which, frankly, needed some tidying up.
Adventure X: New Look, Familiar Muscle
Under the bonnet, it’s business as usual. The Harrier Adventure X continues with a 2.0-litre diesel engine producing 170 bhp and 350 Nm of torque, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
But the main talking point is inside. The Adventure X now sports a dual-tone black and tan interior theme, which sounds posh and, thankfully, is a welcome change from the predictable all-black cabins. On the outside, there’s a new Seaweed Green colour, which is also offered on the pricier Fearless variants.
What’s New in the Features List?
While the core features remain, including a panoramic sunroof, 10.25-inch touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, 360-degree camera, and six airbags, Tata has thoughtfully added automatic wipers to the Adventure X trim. It’s a small but practical upgrade. You still get 17-inch alloys, which is fine, unless you’ve a thing for unnecessarily large wheels.
The Adventure X Plus, priced at Rs 19.34 lakh (Rs 21.04 lakh for the automatic), adds a few more grown-up features like rear disc brakes, electronic parking brake with auto hold, and Level 2 ADAS for those who trust their car more than their co-driver. However, it does lose out on the front parking sensors and 18-inch alloys that the outgoing Adventure+ variants used to feature.
Pricing and Variants: A Bit More Logical Now
Here’s a quick look at the new Harrier Adventure X prices:
Variant | Manual (Rs lakh) | Automatic (Rs lakh) |
---|---|---|
Adventure X | 18.99 | 20.69 |
Adventure X Plus | 19.34 | 21.04 |
Please note that these are introductory prices, valid until October 31, 2025. And if you fancy the Dark or Stealth Editions, those will cost you an additional Rs 65,000 to Rs 75,000 more.
In a nutshell, Tata has given the Harrier Adventure X variants just enough updates to keep things fresh without making significant changes under the hood. You still get the tried-and-tested 2.0-litre diesel, a fair list of features, and now, a slightly more refined interior vibe. The price cut is the cherry on top.
It’s not a radical change, but then again, when did Tata ever make a big fuss about subtle improvements?
