Mercedes-AMG has expanded its India line-up with two new special editions: the A45 S Aero Track Edition, priced at Rs 87 lakh, and the GLE Coupe Performance Edition, priced at Rs 1.52 crore (ex-showroom).
Both models focus on adding performance-oriented features and cosmetic upgrades, while retaining their existing powertrains.
Starting with the A45 S Aero Track Edition, this version sits above the standard model and gets a more aggressive aero package. The changes are largely visual but functional. There is a larger front splitter, aero vanes on the bumper, a fixed rear wing and a revised diffuser. Gloss-black elements are used extensively, including on the side skirts, mirrors, and exhaust tips, especially with the optional Night Package.
It also features 19-inch forged alloy wheels and red brake callipers. The overall effect is a sharper, more track-focused look without altering the car's core character.
Under the hood, nothing changes. The 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine continues to produce 416bhp and 500Nm, paired with an automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive. Performance remains strong, with a claimed 0 to 100kmph time of 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 270kmph.
The GLE Coupe Performance Edition, on the other hand, focuses more on hardware upgrades. It comes with the AMG Dynamic Plus Package as standard, which includes active roll stabilisation, improved brakes with ventilated and perforated discs and red callipers, and 22-inch alloy wheels.
There is also an AMG Track Pace app that adds telemetry functions, along with a revised AMG steering wheel. These were optional earlier, but are now part of the standard package in this version.
Visually, changes are limited. The overall design remains the same, with additions like side steps and subtle detailing. Inside, it continues with dual screens, a head-up display, panoramic sunroof and a premium audio system.
Power comes from a 3.0-litre turbo-petrol inline-six engine producing 429bhp and 520Nm, paired with a 9-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. It can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 5.3 seconds.
Both these updates follow a similar approach. No changes to the engines, but more focus on improving the driving experience and adding visual distinction.
