Jeep India Rolls Out the Wrangler Willys ‘41 Special Edition

In a world increasingly obsessed with screens, sensors, and synthetic engine notes, Jeep has decided to roll up its sleeves and dig into the archives. The result is the new Wrangler Willys ‘41 Special Edition—a limited-run tribute to the brand’s military roots and the original 1941 Willys, back when vehicles were less about connectivity and more about crossing rivers.

Only 30 units of this collector’s edition will be available across India, each tailored for the sort of person who knows what low-range means and probably owns a tent.

The star of the show is the exclusive ‘41 Green paint—yes, that is the actual name—which will only be offered with this special edition. The colour, somewhere between olive and “let’s go off-road now,” is joined by a ‘1941’ decal on the bonnet, grab handles, special floor mats, and other rugged garnishes meant to whisper authenticity rather than shout look at me.

Underneath, it’s still a Wrangler Rubicon, which means 268 bhp and 400 Nm from a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine, an 8-speed automatic gearbox, and proper 4x4 hardware that’s more than just for show.

But it doesn’t stop at the cosmetics. Jeep has also added practical kits like power side steps, front and rear dash cams, and the aforementioned floor mats, which we’re told are very nice. For those who’d like to live the full adventure fantasy, there’s an optional accessories pack that includes a Sunrider rooftop, a side ladder, and a roof carrier, ideal for transporting kayaks or, more realistically, crates of mineral water.

Jeep India’s Brand Director, Kumar Priyesh, said the edition is a celebration of “freedom, adventure and authenticity.” Which is a rather good summary of the Jeep ethos and also something you can now park in your driveway for ₹1.51 lakh over the standard Rubicon. The optional adventure pack, should you feel inspired by the great outdoors (or at least the idea of it), will set you back another ₹4.56 lakh.

In total, what you’re buying here is heritage. Real, olive-toned, decal-wearing, limited-to-30-units heritage. The sort of thing that lets you quietly nod when someone mentions Dakar or Normandy.

And yes, it still has Apple CarPlay.
