Audi A4 Signature Edition Launched at Rs 57.11 Lakh: What’s New

Audi has just introduced a new Signature Edition of the A4 sedan in India, priced at Rs 57.11 lakh (ex-showroom). If you're expecting a fire-breathing performance update, you'll need to sit down. Nothing has changed under the bonnet. Instead, this edition is a case of more visual garnish, a few added creature comforts, and the same mechanicals you already know.

Based on the Top-spec Technology Variant

The Signature Edition sits on top of the existing A4 lineup, based on the Technology variant, which is already the most feature-rich in the range. While the mechanical bits remain unchanged, this edition includes an accessory package as standard, which was previously optional. And Audi being Audi, they've made sure it all looks very deliberate.

What's New on the Outside

There's no redesign. Instead, Audi has focused on details that elevate the overall feel. It starts with a decal finish on the Audi rings, projector puddle lamps that splash the logo onto the tarmac, and dynamic hub caps that keep the four rings perfectly upright even when the wheels spin. These are small things, but anyone who notices them will likely be the sort who appreciates leather-bound instruction manuals.

You also get a sportier alloy wheel paint design, a lip spoiler, and customisable key covers. While that last bit might sound a little indulgent, personalisation is the new performance, at least in the segment this car competes in.

Cabin Gets a Fragrance and Some Flair

Inside, the A4 Signature Edition gets a premium in-cabin fragrance dispenser, which probably won't turn heads but will make your Monday morning traffic jams more bearable. It also adds stainless steel pedal covers, which provide a touch of sportiness without actually altering how the car drives.

The cabin trim now includes natural grey wood oak inlays, which feel more boutique hotel than business suite, but either way, it's a class act.

The Signature Edition is available in five colours:

  • Glacier White Metallic

  • Mythos Black Metallic

  • Navarra Blue Metallic

  • Progressive Red Metallic

  • Manhattan Grey Metallic

Extra Tech: Now With a 360-degree Camera

While the regular A4 Technology variant offers the 360-degree parking camera as an optional accessory, here it's included as standard. If you've ever tried parallel parking between two Range Rovers in a posh Mumbai neighbourhood, you'll know this is not just a party trick.

Nothing New Under the Hood

Mechanically, everything is the same. You still get the 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with mild-hybrid tech, which produces 204 bhp and 320 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

It's a setup that prioritises smoothness and predictability over excitement, which is exactly what you want in a luxury sedan aimed at the everyday commute.

Features List Stays Generous

All the usual goodies from the Technology variant carry over:

  • 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system

  • Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay

  • 12.3-inch digital driver's display (Virtual Cockpit)

  • Three-zone climate control

  • Powered front seats with memory for the driver

  • Ambient lighting

  • Wireless phone charger

  • Electric sunroof

In terms of safety, it retains eight airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, and front and rear parking sensors.

Variant-wise Pricing (Ex-showroom)

Variant Price (Rs)
Premium 47.93 lakh
Premium Plus 53.03 lakh
Technology 57.11 lakh
Signature Edition 57.11 lakh

Yes, the Signature Edition costs exactly the same as the Technology trim, which means you're essentially getting the accessories and aesthetic updates as a free upgrade. Or if you like, a bit of packaging wizardry from Ingolstadt.

Still Value in Subtlety

Yes, it's true the A4 has been around for a while in this generation. And yes, Audi already sells its next-gen replacement globally under the A5 badge. But this Signature Edition reinforces what the A4 has always been good at: understated luxury, calm performance, and solid value.

Importantly, it still undercuts the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class by a fair margin. And for buyers who prefer their luxury with a splash of exclusivity, without the flash, this version of the A4 might just do the trick.
