Kia India has taken the covers off the second-generation Seltos, and more importantly, put a price tag on it. The all-new Kia Seltos starts at ₹10.99 lakh ex-showroom, signalling an aggressive reset in the mid-size SUV space.
The new Seltos grows in every direction. At 4,460mm long, 1,830mm wide and with a wheelbase stretched to 2,690mm, it now has a far more planted stance and noticeably more cabin room. Kia’s updated Digital Tiger Face gives it a sharper nose, while flush automatic door handles and ice-cube LED headlamps add theatre without going overboard.
Inside, the headline act is the 30-inch panoramic display panel that neatly stitches together the instrument cluster and infotainment screen. It is backed by an eight-speaker Bose audio system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a new smart key proximity unlock that does away with button pressing altogether.
Comfort gets a serious upgrade. There are ventilated front seats, a 10-way power driver seat with memory and a relaxation mode, and a panoramic sunroof for those who enjoy letting the sun do the heating. Thoughtful touches like the welcome retract seat function show Kia has paid attention to daily usability.
Safety steps up with the debut of Kia’s K3 platform in India. Standard equipment includes six airbags, ABS and hill start assist, while higher trims get Level 2 ADAS with 21 driver assistance features. It is a comprehensive setup and one that brings the Seltos firmly in line with newer global rivals.
Engine choices remain familiar but flexible. Buyers can choose from a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel. Transmission options range from a 6-speed manual and iMT to IVT, 7-speed dual-clutch and a 6-speed automatic, ensuring there is something for both commuters and highway regulars.
Kia’s trim strategy is wide-ranging. The Seltos is offered in HTE, HTK, HTX and GTX trims, with option packs layered on for convenience, premium features, ADAS and the X Line design treatment. Prices climb to just under ₹20 lakh for the fully loaded GTX and X Line automatic variants.
With production already underway at Anantapur and deliveries expected to ramp up quickly, the all-new Seltos arrives with sharper pricing, more tech and a stronger safety story. In a segment that does not forgive complacency, Kia has clearly decided to stay on the front foot.
