Volvo has given its best-selling SUV, the XC60, another round of tweaks. Priced at Rs 71.90 lakh (ex-showroom), the facelift introduces new features and minor cosmetic updates, while the mechanical components remain unchanged. That’s Rs 1.15 lakh more than before, but in typical Volvo fashion, you do get quite a bit of kit for your money.
What’s New on the Outside?
Visually, the 2025 XC60 plays a very subtle game. The silhouette is unchanged, but you do get a new diagonal-slat grille that aligns it more closely with the bigger XC90. The 19-inch alloy wheels have been redesigned, too, although you might need to squint to notice. Interestingly, India misses out on the smoked tail-lights and bumper tweaks seen on the global model.
The XC60 is now offered in six colours, with Forest Lake making its debut. Sadly, Platinum Grey has been let go.
Tech Boost Inside the Cabin
Step inside, and you’ll spot the most significant change straight away. The central touchscreen now measures 11.2 inches and is powered by Google’s infotainment system. Volvo says it’s twice as fast, thanks to a new Snapdragon chipset. The 15-speaker, 1,410W Bowers & Wilkins audio system continues to impress, making traffic jams feel like private concerts.
Other niceties include a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, Nappa leather upholstery, wood trim inserts, and massaging front seats. Yes, it will knead your back while you crawl through Mumbai traffic.
Safety First, as Always
Volvo’s obsession with safety continues. The XC60 now comes with the Volvo Smart Safety Network, which is essentially Level 2 ADAS. Features such as adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, cross-traffic alert with automatic braking, and lane-keeping aids are all standard. Eight airbags, a 360-degree camera, and ABS with EBD complete the safety list.
Engine and Performance
Under the bonnet, things remain familiar. The 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine churns out 250bhp and 360Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed torque-converter automatic transmission. There’s also a 48V mild-hybrid system that assists with fuel efficiency and helps the XC60 manage a claimed 12.9kmpl.
While the numbers won’t raise any eyebrows, the XC60 has always been about calm and composed motoring rather than setting lap times.
