Automobili Pininfarina has revealed their new Battista Targamerica. This car will be the first coach-built electric hypercar and was commissioned by a present Battista owner. This model made its first appearance at a motorsport gathering in the Monterey Car Week called The Quali.
History of The Battista Targamerica
The Battista Targamerica was commissioned by its owner exactly a year before the current event in the 2023 Monterey Car Week. It derives its Taargamerica title from its roofless body style, and the country in the car will find its home. The specs of the car are customised completely to the owner’s requirements.
Powertrain of the Battista Targamerica
Let us start with the part of the car that gets no change compared to the standard Battista. It is the same 4 motor setup, with one motor on every wheel. These motors combined churn out a power output of 1,873 bhp and a torque figure of 2,340 Nm. These motors derive their power from a 120 kWh battery that can last a claimed 476 km. You can juice up this unit at up to 180 kW. The Battista Targamerica can hit 100 km/h starting from a dead stop in a mere 2 seconds. The maximum speed of the hypercar is 300 kmph.
Design of The Battista Targamerica
Pininfarina has collaborated with the artisans of Cambiano for the beautiful design of the Targamerica. It is the first Battista that gets an open-top design along with a Targa body style. The inspiration behind it is the Pininfarina-designed Ferrari Testarossa from 1986. It is painted in a silver hue along with blue and black bits for the contrast. The bottom of the rear wing has a unique Icona Blue pinstriped across its width that is painted by hand. It rides on 5-spoke ceramic polished alloy wheels that have black aluminium centre covers. Along with this are the jewellery pack and the intricate door plates.
Cabin of The Battista Targamerica
In the cabin of the Targamerica, the first thing you notice is the luxurious tan leather upholstery that is contrasted by the black colour of the dashboard and steering wheel. The headrests match the tan colour, but get the Pininfarina logo engraved into Stange. The elements you might notice in the cabin are the cigar holder and the humidor that you will find between the two seats. This cigar holder seems like a work of art itself as it lights up according to the drive mode the Battista is driving in while holding 3 cigars in it. For the travelling needs, the owner will get a luggage set that is of the same colour as the leather.
