Motorsports fans will love what Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) has in store. HRC is set to launch a memorabilia business, allowing fans and collectors globally to own a piece of racing history. This new venture will feature a wide range of authentic quality memorabilia, including signed merchandise, limited-edition collectibles and rare artifacts from Honda’s legacy in motorsports.
First Offerings
HRC is launching the memorabilia business by auctioning rare parts from the historic Honda RA100E V10 F1 engine, the car driven by Ayrton Senna and Gerhard Bergen in the 1990 F1 season. The original engine builders disassembled the engine at the HRC factory in Sakura City, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan. The auction items include various components, such as:
-
Camshafts
-
Cam Covers
-
Pistons
-
Connecting Rods
All the components are housed in display cases and are accompanied by an HRC certificate of authenticity.
The Auction
The auction will take place during California’s Monterey Car Week in August. It is a perfect place for such an auction as it attracts enthusiasts, collectors and industry professionals from around the world.
Future of HRC Memorabilia
The auction of the Honda RA100E F1 engine is just the beginning. HRC is also selecting heritage machines and parts from the IndyCar series and significant racing motorcycles for private sales or auctions soon. Honda might eventually dip into its historical collection of the Isle of Man TT bikes from the 1960s, early F1 cars from the 1960s and other mechanics. Many of these machines are in running condition with rare spare parts. To preserve these rare machines, only a select few are made available for sale.
"We aim to make this a valuable business that allows fans who love F1, MotoGP and various other races to share in the history of Honda's challenges in racing since the 1950s." said HRC President Koji Watanabe. "Including our fans to own a part of Honda's racing history is not intended to be a one-time endeavor, but rather a continuous business that we will nurture and grow."
Conclusion
Honda has a rich history in motorsports, and with the launch of its memorabilia business, fans and collectors now have a unique opportunity to own a piece of that legacy. By carefully selecting rare parts and collectibles from its historic racing machines, HRC ensures that enthusiasts can celebrate Honda’s achievements without compromising the preservation of its storied past. With plans for future auctions and private sales featuring items from F1, IndyCar, and MotoGP, this initiative is just beginning an exciting new chapter for Honda Racing Corporation and its global community of motorsport fans.
