Moto GP will be held in India from 2025 to 2027. MotoGP announced that it has signed a new contract with Invest UP, the Uttar Pradesh Government’s international investment agency, for the Grand Prix of India. This agreement means we will see MotoGP action at the Buddh International Circuit like we witnessed in 2023.
India Important Market for MotoGP
In its statement, MotoGP said that with a population of 1.4 billion people and 200 million motorcycles on the road, India is a key global market for them, their manufacturers and partners. They emphasised that 75% of the total vehicles in India are two-wheeled.
About the Grand Prix of India
The 2023 MotoGP was a success as it saw 100,000 spectators visit the Gautam Buddh Circuit. Marco Bezzecchi of Ducati won the race, followed by Jorge Martin of Ducati and Fabio Quartararo of Yamaha. The Buddh International Circuit is a track with a length of 4.96 km with thirteen turns. 5 of these are left, and 8 are right. The initial plan of the GP was to cover 24 laps with a total distance of 118.97km, but this was reduced due to climatic conditions.
