LEGO Trophies Take the Spotlight at British Grand Prix 2025

After a thrilling 52 laps of the 2025 Formula 1 British Grand Prix at Silverstone, we saw something equally iconic on the podium: the first-ever trophies made entirely from LEGO bricks.

Lando Norris clinched first place, hoisting a gold-accented LEGO trophy comprised of 2,717 bricks and weighing over 2 kilograms. Fellow McLaren driver Oscar Piastri joined him in second, while KICK Sauber F1 Team’s Nico Hülkenberg secured third place. Each racer proudly lifted their uniquely coloured LEGO trophies against the British summer sky.

Celebrating 75 Years of F1

The LEGO trophies were specially designed to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Formula 1, which held its inaugural World Championship race at Silverstone in 1950. Drawing inspiration from the classic Royal Automobile Club (RAC) golden trophy, LEGO master builders meticulously crafted these brick-built tributes as a playful homage to racing heritage.

In addition to the drivers’ awards, the McLaren team also celebrated a double victory by receiving the constructor’s LEGO trophy — a dark blue and gold creation, which will be a unique standout piece in their trophy cabinet.

Family Appeal

This LEGO twist is the latest milestone in the ongoing multi-year partnership between the LEGO Group and Formula 1, which aims to broaden the sport’s reach and engage younger audiences through immersive, family-friendly experiences.

“The LEGO trophies brought an unexpected and joyful element to one of the sport’s most iconic races,” said a spokesperson from the LEGO Group. “They reflect not only the achievements of the drivers but also the creativity and passion behind our collaboration with Formula 1.”
