Volvo EX30 India Launch Slated for 2025

Volvo has decided to bring the Volvo EX30 to India by 2025. This entry-level SUV will be placed below the XC40 Recharge and will be the third model in Volvo's electric plans in India. What is so unique about this SUV? What are its specs? Check it all out below.

Design of the Volvo EX30

The Volvo EX30 is distinctly a Volvo, with its minimalist looks from all sides. Not much is happening on the front with a closed grille that you expect from EVs, a Volvo log and sleek LED DRLs. The ADAS radars and air dams are hidden in the bumper. The highlight of the sides are the 20-inch alloy wheels with an aerodynamic design and black colour. The rear looks much funkier than the front with its connected LED tail lamps and unique C-shape like we have seen in the Volvo XC60 and XC90.

Cabin of Volvo EX30

When you enter the EX30, you will notice a dual-tone approach to the colour with a black and denim finish on the dashboard. If you don't like these colours, you can opt for other options in its catalogue. What instantly grabs attention is the vertical 12.3-inch screen that looks like someone made a giant phone and stuck it there. The steering is an elegant 3 spoke one behind which are vertical AC vents.

Powertrain of the Volvo EX30

There are multiple powertrain options available to choose from in the international trims of the Volvo EX30. The first is a single motor option that produces 268 Bhp and 343 Nm torque delivered to the wheels through an RWD drivetrain. This variant is powered by a 49 kWh battery pack that lasts 337 km. There is an extended-range version of this where the motor and drivetrain are the same, but the battery is replaced by a 65 kWh pack that can last 476 km. The last option is a Twin Motor Performance variant that uses the same 65 kWh battery but generates 422 bhp and 543 Nm of torque. This power is delivered to the wheels by an AWD drivetrain.

Features of Volvo EX30

On the feature front, along with the 12.3-inch screen supporting Apple Carplay, the car gets heated front seats and steering, wireless phone charging, dual-zone automatic climate control and a 9-speaker Harman Kardon music system in the international variant. It will be interesting to see which of these features make it to India.

Safety of Volvo EX30

You talk of a Volvo and don't mention safety—is that even possible? Like its siblings, the EX30 gets all the safety gear, like airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), a 360-degree camera, and an advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) suite that has features like driver attentiveness alert, collision avoidance, and park assist.
