E3 Trion electric scooter launched in India; prices start at ₹99,999

The Indian EV startup E3 Electric.AI has entered the electric two-wheeler market with the launch of its first electric scooter, the E3 Trion. The EV scooter is available in three variants: C1, C1x, and C2. The E3 Trion combines AI-enabled connectivity and multiple battery configurations. Here’s all you need to know.

The Trion adopts a clean, futuristic design; up front, the scooter gets a dual-projector LED headlight. The scooter rides on 14-inch alloy wheels at both ends wrapped in 90/90 tubeless tyres. It offers 52 litres of under-seat storage and a 2-litre glove box. There are six colour options to choose from.

Battery, Motor and performance

The E3 Trion range is powered by a PMSM hub-mounted motor paired with either a removable or fixed battery depending on the variant. The entry-level Trion C1 variant gets a removable 2.3 kWh battery which produces 2.5kW of peak power with 120Nm of torque. It delivers an IDC-certified range of 108 km and has a claimed top speed of 67km/h. The battery charges from 0-80 per cent in around 2 hours and 30 minutes using a standard charger. The Trion C1x gets a larger fixed 3 kWh battery while retaining the same 2.5 kW motor. It offers a higher claimed IDC range of 165 km with the same 67km/h topspeed. The battery charges from 0-80 per cent in 3 hours 30 minutes. Sitting on the top of the range is the Trion C2 variant, which also uses a 3kWh fixed battery but receives a more powerful 3.5 kW motor producing 145Nm of torque. It gets a claimed IDC range of 128 km and a higher top speed of 82 km/h. The battery charges from 0-80 per cent in 3 hours and 30 minutes.

Features

In terms of features, the E3 Trion gets three ride modes, cruise control, hill hold assist, all-LED lighting and a 5-inch LCD with Bluetooth connectivity. It also gets app integration, which shows real-time data about the scooter. The app can also run 10 second diagnostics check, which can provide you with all the details about the scooter and highlight if anything has broken down.
