Volkswagen has decided to take its sporty electric model plan forward, with the latest entrant being the ID.7 GTX. This GTX badge will give the ID.7 a more performance and sportier look. It was announced to be in the works when Volkswagen showed the ID.7 GTX Tourer. The ID.8 GTX is now a part of the extended portfolio of the ID.3 hatchback, ID.4 SUV, ID.5 SUV-coupe, ID.Buzz MP. Here is all you need to know about it.
ID.7 GTX Powertrain
The ID.7 GTX gets the same dual-motors that power the ID. Buzz and ID.7 Tourer, which means it produces 340 bhp, 54 bhp more powerful than the standard ID.7. These motors derive their power from a 86 kWh battery that is also found in the ID.7 Pro S. This battery can charge from 10-80 percent in 30 minutes with a 200 kW charging. The range of the car is not known yet, but we expect it to be lower than the 685 km range of the Pro S as it focuses more on performance.
ID.7 GTX Mechanical Changes
The ID-7 GTX's mechanical changes include tweaks to its chassis and dynamics to match the improved performance. It also gets sportier steering and the option to add Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC). This feature uses an updated dynamics manager to offer customised handling.
ID.7 GTX Design Changes
When it comes to changes to the EV's looks, it gets new elements like GTX front bumpers, arrowhead LED DRLs and black-gloss trim. The interior takes inspiration from the GTX Tourer, with its sports seats contrasted by red stitching and GTX lettering.
ID.7 GTX India Launch
There is no information on the ID.7 GTX making an entry into the Indian market. Volkswagen recently revealed the ID.4, which will soon be launched in India.
