TVS iQube ST is Finally Here but There's a Catch

TVS Motor Company has launched the much-awaited iQube ST along with the new base variant. The family scooter lineup has now expanded to a total of five variants, three battery packs and eleven colour options. TVS has already sold 300,000 units of the electric iQube series and the brand is hopeful of expansion.

The TVS iQube ST 5.1 kWh is priced at Rs 1,85,373, the iQube ST 3.4 kWh is priced at Rs 1,55,555 and the iQube 2.2 kWh is priced at Rs 94,999. That said, the latest variants have been announced with introductory prices only till June 30. Talking about competition, another EV scooter manufacturer has just stepped into the family scooter market with the all-new Ather Rizta. Can TVS attack the new entrants, the reigning leader from the left and right with this extended lineup rather than a facelift? Will they have buyers for the top pricey variants? Let us take a deeper look at the variants.

New Variants Explained

The latest iQube ST 5.1kWh variant sits at the top of the lineup and gets the largest battery fitted to any scooter in the entire country. In fact, the battery pack is even larger than the flagship TVS X costing Rs 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom). To be precise the TVS X sports a 4.44 kWh battery pack. There is a catch though, the iQube ST will only be able to take advantage of 4.5 kWh from the large battery provided. While the scooter has all the below features the highlight is the 150 km claimed real-world range of the iQube ST 5.1 kWh variant. The keyword is real-world range here, while other scooters in the segment only boast similar IDC range. Besides TVS iQube ST which sits above the iQube S variant, is also offered with the 3.4 kWh battery pack. This variant will have the same features of iQube ST 5.1 kWh and only a 50km less real-world range. The ST variant feature list goes like this: a 7-inch full-colour TFT touchscreen,118+ connected features, Alexa Voice Assistant, digital document storage, TPMS, 32-litre under-seat storage space and a top speed of 82/78 kmph.

TVS also has a newly introduced 2.2 kWh battery pack for the entry-level variant. The entry-level variant a.k.a just “TVS iQube” is now at a more affordable price. Feature-wise it includes 5-inch colour TFT screen without touch, vehicle crash and tow alert, turn-by-turn navigation, distance to empty, 30 litres under seat storage space and a top speed of 75 kmph. The base variant is only available in two colour options: Walnut Brown and Pearl White. A 950W charger is standard for across the variants, which makes the base spec with the fastest charging time of 2 hours from 0-80%. The top-spec iQube ST 5.1 kWh has a 4 hr 18 m (0-80%) charging time.
