Maserati is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Tagnanello with a special Fuoriserie variant of the GranCabrio Folgore, its electric convertible. This model was created in collaboration with Marchesi Antinori and will be available at an auction on July 14 at the Festival Napa Valley's Arts for All Gala in California. This event is one of the most prestigious art charity events across the US. Tignanello was the first Sangiovese to be aged in barriques, the first contemporary red wine blended with untraditional grape varieties.
Looks of GranCabrio Folgore Tignanello
The GranCabrio Folgore Tignanello features a unique Terra di Tignanello hue inspired by a vineyard's soil and the red colour of Tignanello's barrels. It has matte rims and glossy black callipers. The emblems, on the other hand, are copper. The fabric of the soft top is also black, giving the car a beautiful aesthetic.
Interior of GranCabrio Folgore Tignanello
On the inside, the GranCabrio Folgore Tignaello has leather seats with a silver and burgundy ribbed weave made of Vegea, a unique material made from Vineyards. This is the first time that a Maserati car gets such a material, with it symbolising rows of vines found on the Tignaello hill. The panels get Dark briar wood along with laser-etched details. The headrests look unique due to the Maserati Tridents integrated with Tignanello's sun emblem.
The Heritage
Maserati's partnership with Marchesi Antinori honours the rich heritage of both brands. With over 600 years and 26 generations of winemaking history, Marchesi Antinori exemplifies a legacy of innovation and tradition, which aligns with Maserati's values. Talking about it, Klaus Busse, Maserati Head of Design, said, "This collaboration with Marchesi Antinori gives us the opportunity to epitomise the essence of Bespoke production, the flagship of our Maserati Fuoriserie customisation programme. It is designed to create ad-hoc experiences for Trident customers, by producing tailor-made cars that can make the driving experience even more sublime and distinctive, the way only an outstanding wine can at the table. Telling a story of Italian excellence is a source of pride for us and serves as constant stimulus for our work, which with Bespoke production aspires to create something absolutely dedicated and inimitable".
