Thar Roxx Teased Again: To Get Panoramic Sunroof

The Thar Roxx, or the Thar 5-door in layman's terms, will be revealed on 15th August, and we sure are excited about it. Mahindra is teasing the off-roader before that, bit by bit through its teasers. We have another teaser today from the Indian Marquee; here is all that it reveals:

What the New of Thar Roxx Teaser Reveals

Mahindra has released a teaser image of the Thar Roxx that shows it will get a panoramic sunroof. This is the latest information that we have gotten from its teasers. As we saw in the previous teaser, the Thar gets LED headlights that get C-shaped DRLs around them, a new bumper and a new grille with vertical rectangular styling elements. We also spotted a camera on the front grille that might be for the 360-degree camera or the ADAS features. The side profile of the Thar Roxx has door-mounted ORVMs, a radio antenna on the front fender, a 'Thar Roxx' logo on the front side panel, and a rear door handle housed on the C-pillar. The new Thar Roxx will also get new diamond-cut alloy wheels.

Features of Thar Roxx

The interiors of the Thar Roxx are expected to be similar to the 3 doors if the spy shots are to be believed. It will have the same circular AC vents but will add to them the use of faux wood and a glovebox. It will also have a similar 3-spoke steering, rear AC vents and height adjustable seats. On the feature front, we expect Thar Roxx to be equipped with a fresh infotainment screen, wireless Android auto and Apple carplay, ventilated front seats, automatic climate control, a digital instrument panel, and a large panoramic sunroof in the top trims.

Powertrain of Thar Roxx

The Thar 5-door is expected to offer the same two engine options as the Thar 3-door: a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 2.2-litre diesel engine. These engines can be mated with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The Thar Roxx model will feature a 4x4 drivetrain, including a low-ratio gearbox, a mechanical locking differential on the rear axle, and a brake-locking front axle. To make the vehicle more affordable, Mahindra may also provide a two-wheel drive variant.

Launch of Thar Roxx

The Thar 5-door is set to be unveiled on August 15, following Mahindra's tradition of showcasing new vehicles on Indian Independence Day. Although the official pricing hasn't been revealed, the Thar Roxx is anticipated to be priced at around 15 lakh INR (ex-showroom). Upon its release, it will compete with the Maruti Suzuki Jimny and the 5-door Force Gurkha.
