Tata Motors is known for offering consumers a wide range of options, including personas and special editions. The Tata Nexon.ev is available in a total of 15 variants, and if you include the ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) variants, the total exceeds 100. For those looking for something more understated on the outside but distinct on the inside, the new Red #Dark edition delivers a striking combination. Priced at Rs 17.19 Lakh ex-showroom, the 2024 Tata Nexon.ev Red #Dark edition is based on the top variant of the Nexon.ev. It comes at a premium of Rs 20,000 over the Empowered+ persona. But is the premium worth it? Let's dive into the details.
Exterior of the Nexon.ev Red #Dark
At the front, the car features an all-black treatment with Carbon Black and Piano Black accents, including the logo, which now comes in a dark Piano Black finish. Key features like the smart DRLs, which also function as the charging indicator are carried over from other variants.
On the side, the left fender showcases a glossy #Dark mascot badge with red lettering. Similar to the Dark edition, the 16-inch wheels are finished in Jet Black, and the roof rails are in Charcoal Grey. The rear of the SUV remains unchanged. As a fully loaded Nexon.ev variant, the SUV also offers an 11.6-litre frunk (front trunk) for additional storage under the bonnet.
Interior of the Nexon.ev Red #Dark
Stepping inside, the most noticeable feature is the all-red seats. The headrests are embroidered with the #Dark logo, and dark chromium design elements add to the premium feel. As mentioned earlier, the Red #Dark edition is based on the top variant. Therefore, it includes ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof with voice assist, an electronic parking brake, a 360-degree camera with a blind spot monitor, JBL premium speakers, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, and the Arcade.ev app suite.
Exclusive features of the Tata Nexon.ev Red #Dark edition includes a Satin Midnight Black finish between the air conditioning vents, Granite Black with decorative red double stitching on the dashboard, and a new background colour for both the driver's display and the infotainment display user interface.
Battery and Motor of the Nexon.ev Red #Dark
The Nexon.ev Red #Dark comes exclusively with the updated 45kWh battery pack. Previously, the LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery pack was exclusive to the Tata Curvv.ev. This new addition extends the ARAI test cycle range (p1+p2) up to 489 km. The manufacturer also claims a real-world range of 350-370 km. Furthermore, the vehicle supports 60kWh fast charging, with a charging time of 10-80% in approximately 40 minutes. Its bi-directional charging capability allows the Nexon.ev to share power with other electric vehicles or appliances.
The Permanent Magnet Synchronous AC motor produces 147.5 bhp and 215 Nm of torque. The driver can choose from three different driving modes and four regenerative braking settings. Lastly, the Nexon.ev Red #Dark edition's safety features include all four disc brakes, TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System), a 5-star crash-rated platform, and other standard safety features.
