Tata Curvv To Launch on August 7

Tata has revealed it will launch its much-awaited Coupe-SUV Curvv on August 7. Tata will most likely show the electric version of the SUV on that day, with the ICE variants following suit later. While we saw a glimpse of the SUV at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2024, it will be exciting to see it in action on launch. Here is all we know about it:

Design of the Tata Curvv

The Curve is based on the popular SUV Nexon but would be larger than that in all proportions. It gets split LED headlamps that we are accustomed to seeing from Tata. The side claddings get a glossy black finish, while the rear also gets split lamps as tail lights along with triangular air vents. The most interesting part of the car, though, is the floating, frameless, Coupe-like roofline, giving it a distinct look. The wheels of the Curvv get a petal-like design.

Interior of Tata Curvv

On the inside, it has four spoke steering wheels like the Harrier and Safari. The other similar feature is the 10.25-inch infotainment display and a similarly sized digital instrument cluster. It will get all the other bells and whistles in the feature front, like a wireless charger, a 360-degree camera, ventilated seats, connected car features and a panoramic sunroof.

Powertrain of Tata Curvv

The Tata Curvv will feature a new 123 hp, 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine paired with both manual and automatic transmissions. Diesel variants will use the 1.5-litre, four-cylinder engine shared with the Nexon. The electric version will be based on Tata’s Gen 2 acti.ev architecture, with an anticipated range of 450-500 km, but the exact numbers are yet to be seen.

Tata Curvv Price

Tata might start the Curvv lineup in India with the Curvv EV, which we expect to be priced around 20 lakh. This would make it the flagship EV from Tata until the Harrier EV arrives. It will lock horns with the MG ZS EV and the upcoming  Hyundai Creta EV and Maruti eVX.

The ICE version might be launched around the 10 Lakh price range. If that holds, it will compete in the cutthroat market for Mid-size SUVs in India. This segment consists of the Grand Vitara, Hyndai Creta, MG Astor, Kia Seltos, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and Honda Elevate.
