Tata has released a teaser of the Altroz Racer before they plan to launch it in June. The teaser gives a sneak peak of the side profile of the upcoming hot hatch from Tata. This model might serve as a much needed boost to the sales of the Altroz which have seen a constant decline in demand even after Tata introducing a CNG version of it.
Altroz Racer: What Teaser Reveals
On first glance, it is evident that the Altroz racer will be finished in a bright orange color along with a black dual tone contrast. Like the standard Dual-tone Altroz, it features black wind mirrors, roof and window line, adding to it a black pillars. The wheels remain the same in form of the 16-inch alloys.
Altroz Racer: Spy Shots Sneak Peak
If we go by the Spy shots and leaks about the sporty premium hatchback, then it will get racing stripes on the bonnet in white color. It is also expected to get a new grille and some ‘Racer’ badges to set it apart. The first time we saw these changes was at the Bharat Mobility Expo.
The inside will complement the outside in terms of sportiness. For this it will have new bits on the dashboard as well as a fresh upholstery. The interior feature list might include a 10.25 inch infotainment panel, 360-degree camera, heads-up display, a voice activated sunroof and ventilated seats.
Altroz Racer: Powertrain Talk
The Altroz Racer will get a different engine from the standard Altroz. It is expected to share the 1.2L petrol engine from the Nexon that can churn out 118 hp and 170 Nm of torque. This engine will likely be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. It will lock horns with the Hyundai i20 N Line which produces the same amount of power and 2 Nm more of torque. Considering this, they might also price it around the i20N line’s price of around Rs 10-11.42 Lakhs. Other competitors would be the Maruti Suzuki Fronx and the Toyota Taisor.
