Skoda Teases Elroq Ahead of October 1 Reveal

Skoda has released a new teaser of their upcoming electric SUV Elroq before it arrives in the international market on October 1. This upcoming model will lead Škoda into its new "Modern Solid" design direction, which will influence future vehicles from the brand. Set to launch by October 2024, it will be Škoda's second electric vehicle following the Enyaq iV. While the iconic butterfly grille will remain, it will feature a fresh and modernised design interpretation. It will have a new MEB platform of the Volkswagen Group.

What the Elroq Teaser Reveals

The latest teaser focuses on the Elroq's daytime running lights (DRLs), which are part of a full-width lightbar stretching across the front of the vehicle, as shown in the design sketch. Other elements we know from previous sketches include Škoda's new "Tech-Deck face," featuring the brand name spelt out in capital letters instead of the traditional logo. The headlights follow a split design, with LED DRLs on top and Matrix LED headlights positioned lower on the bumper. The butterfly grille has been refined and replaced with a large air intake in the bumper area. The design sketch showcases the vehicle in a Timia Green colour. At the rear, the Elroq resembles the current Škoda SUVs, with dark chrome Škoda lettering and LED tail lamps. At the same time, the Škoda logo is only present on the wheels. The Elroq will measure 4.2 metres in length, have a drag coefficient of 0.26, and offer 470 litres of boot space.

Interior of Škoda Elroq

Inside, the Elroq features a floating infotainment display, with AC vents and buttons positioned below it. The centre console includes two cup holders, a few buttons, and a front armrest. The steering wheel has a two-spoke design with buttons and a Škoda badge. Škoda has emphasised sustainability in the Elroq's interior, using materials made from 78% recycled PET sourced from items like plastic bottles. The remaining materials consist of 16% new PET and, for the first time, 6% mechanically recycled fibres from post-consumer clothing. Users can choose between four interior Design Selections: Studio, Loft, Lodge, and Suite.

Launch of Škoda Elroq

The Škoda Elroq is expected to be available in European markets early next year, with a possible launch in India alongside its sibling, the Enyaq iV.
