The Skoda Superb always stood out to me when discussing luxury sedans—the classy Skoda design with a touch of German engineering. Not a lot of buyers agreed as its sales were poor. This led to the previous generation of the superb not even getting a proper goodbye and getting discontinued last year. Skoda has decided to give it another try in 2024. Here is all you need to know about the Superb 2024.
Finesse in Design
If there were a list of companies whose cars you can unmistakably identify by design, then Skoda would top the list. The Superb is no exception, with the signature Skoda grill, a simple yet flowing side profile and a large Skoda badge at the rear. The India spec gets 17-inch wheels instead of the 18-inch ones in the international spec. You can get it in three colours: Magic Black, Water World Green, and Rosso Brunello.\
Exclusivity at Core
Skoda has decided to sell only 100 cars with the superb badge. These will imported into India instead of being assembled here. Expect them to be luxurious as it comes only in a feature-packed L&K variant.
Performs the Same
There are no changes on the performance front. It is still powered by the 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine, which generates 187 hp and 320Nm of torque. It propels it from 0-100kmph in a claimed 7.7 seconds. For gear changes, you get a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox.
Loaded with Features
Skoda has gone all out with the Superb on the features front. It gets adaptive LED headlamps, LED fog lights with cornering function, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 12-way electrically adjustable front seats with ventilation function, a massage function for the driver seat, Cognac upholstery, three-zone climate control and a virtual cockpit. For the safety of passengers, it has nine airbags, TPMS, park assist with a 360-degree camera, an ADAS suite, and an Electronic Differential Lock (EDS).
Price
The updated Skoda Superb is available to Indian buyers at 54 Lakhs (introductory, ex-showroom). The only variant on offer is the L&K automatic.
