Skoda Kushaq and Slavia Sportline Launched

Skoda has shown the Sportline variants of the Kushaq and the Salvia, along with the Slavia Monte Carlo Edition. The Slavia Sportline starts at Rs 14.05 Lakh, and the Kushaq Sportline starts at Rs 14.70 Lakh (ex-showroom). These variants combine the blackened bits of the Monte Carlo version with colour options. The Sportline is based on the mid variants of the two cars, so you miss out on some top-end features. It could be a good match for users who want a sportier look at a more affordable price.

Design Elements of Sportline Variant

The exterior changes are on par with those found in the Monte Carlo versions of the models. These include the blackened finish on the grille, sunroof, ORVMs, fog lamp surrounds, air dams, and diffusers. This is continued on the rear with the black diffuser, air dams, and a glossy black spoiler. It obviously misses out on the premium Monte Carlo badging.

Interior of Sportline Variant

The inside is where the Sportline completely differentiates itself from the Monte Carlo. This starts with the fabric seats that miss out on ventilation. It also misses out on the digital instrument cluster and gets an analogue one instead. The electric sunroof, aluminium foot pedals, 10-inch infotainment display, rain-sensing wipers and six airbags are shared with the Monte Carlo version.

Powertrain of Sportline Variant

The sportline variant gets both turbocharged petrol engines available in the standard and Monte Carlo versions of the Kushaq and Slavia. The 1.5-litre engine is capable of producing 148 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a single DSG gearbox.

The 1.0-litre engine produces 114 bhp and 175 Nm of torque. It can be mated with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox in the standard version.

Price of Sportline Variant

The price of the Sportline depends on the model, engine and transmission chosen. Both cars have options. In the Slavia, the 1.0-litre TSI costs Rs 14.05 Lakh for the manual and 15.15 Lakh for the automatic. The 1.5-litre TSI, available only with DSG, costs Rs 16.75 Lakh. Coming to the Kushaq, the 1.0-litre TSI costs 14.70 Lakh when mated with the manual and 15.80 Lakh with the automatic. The 1.5-litre, also paired with DSG in the Kushaq, costs 17.40 Lakh. These are all ex-showroom prices.
