Rolls-Royce has officially unveiled the highly anticipated Cullinan facelift in India, introducing two new models: the Cullinan Series II and the Black Badge Cullinan Series II. The starting prices for these super-luxury SUVs are Rs 10.50 crore and Rs 12.25 crore (ex-showroom), respectively. However, the final pricing may vary based on customer specifications, as each Rolls-Royce is bespoke. The first local client deliveries of the Cullinan Series II are set to commence in the fourth quarter of 2024.
Irene Nikkein, Regional Director for Asia-Pacific at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, stated, "The debut of Cullinan Series II in India represents a significant milestone for Rolls-Royce in the Asia Pacific region. Since its original launch in 2018, this remarkable motor car has attracted a younger and more diverse group of clients. Today, the Cullinan is the most requested Rolls-Royce in the marque's portfolio. Cullinan Series II integrates new technologies, new materials, meticulously considered design updates, and innovative opportunities for self-expression through Bespoke."
The Cullinan Series II features several exterior updates, including slimmer headlamps with L-shaped LED daytime running lights that extend to an updated bumper. The grille has received a subtle redesign, and the rear bumper now gets a fresh look with a stainless-steel skid plate. New wheels add to the overall aesthetic.
Inside, the cabin is equipped with a full-width glass panel across the dashboard and a new display cabinet housing a detailed analogue clock along with a miniaturized, illuminated Spirit of Ecstasy mascot. The latest version of Rolls-Royce's Spirit infotainment system offers new graphics and customizable displays, allowing owners to tailor the colors of their instruments to match their vehicle's paintwork or upholstery.
At the heart of the Cullinan Series II is a powerful 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine. The standard variant produces 565 bhp and 850 Nm of torque, while the Black Badge variant generates 591 bhp and 900 Nm. Both models feature an 8-speed automatic transmission, delivering power to all four wheels.
Since the Cullinan's launch, there has been a notable shift in customer preferences, with almost every Cullinan now being owner-driven, a significant change from the original trend where less than 70% were self-driven. This shift has contributed to a decrease in the average age of Rolls-Royce customers from 56 in 2010 to 43.
The Cullinan Series II has a price increase of approximately Rs 3.55 crore for the standard model and Rs 4.05 crore for the Black Badge model compared to the outgoing pre-facelift versions. With no direct competitors in its price segment, the Cullinan maintains its position as the most expensive SUV in India.
