Porsche India has pulled the wraps off the much-anticipated 2024 Panamera, marking the arrival of the third generation of the luxury sportback in the Indian market. Prices for the Panamera start from Rs 1.69 crore, with only the base V6 version being offered at the time of launch.
The new Panamera boasts a series of refinements that elevate its appeal. The exterior undergoes a subtle yet sophisticated refresh, featuring a reworked front fascia with redesigned air vents and sharper LED headlights. The overall silhouette retains the Panamera's signature sleekness but with a touch of added dynamism.
Stepping inside, the redesigned cabin prioritizes both comfort and driver engagement. The use of high-quality materials and a focus on ergonomics create a luxurious and functional environment. The upgraded infotainment system promises a more intuitive user experience, keeping passengers entertained and connected on the go.
Under the hood, the initial offering in India will be a powerful 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 engine, producing 349 bhp and 500 Nm of torque. This translates to a bump of 20 bhp and 50 Nm compared to the outgoing model. The engine is mated to an 8-speed PDK automatic transmission, sending power to the rear wheels.
While the initial launch focuses on this single, potent V6 option, Porsche has hinted at introducing more variants later, including the much-awaited V8 models and possibly even hybrid options. This aligns with the wider global powertrain offerings for the 2024 Panamera.
The new Panamera enters a well-contested segment in the Indian market. It will face stiff competition from established rivals like the Maserati Quattroporte, the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe, and the upcoming BMW M8 Gran Coupe. With its refreshed design, upgraded technology, and powerful engine, the 2024 Panamera is poised to make a strong case for itself among discerning luxury car buyers in India.
