JSW MG Motors India conducted DriEV.Bharat, where they showcased their plans for their EV future and some new innovations in the field. All of these features will debut in the upcoming MG Windstor EV. It is worth noting that MG recently became the first OEM in India to achieve 40% sales of cars from EVs. They want to take this forward through collaboration with companies across industries. Here is all you need to know about their launches.
eHUB By MG
The first product on the list is eHUB, which is an app that claims to solve the issue of finding chargers for EV users. It has multiple functionalities that help in locating, reserving, and paying for charging stations. The app also provides trip-planning features that will help you when you go on long journeys.
What makes it worth using is its access to almost the entire charging network of the country through MG's partnerships with providers like Adani Total Energies Limited (ATEL), BPCL, Chargezone, Glida, HPCL, Jio-BP, Shell, Statiq, Zeon, and others. Users can use eHUB in 11 languages.
MG-Jio ICP
MG-Jio Innovative Connectivity Platform or ICP is a collaboration between Reliance's Jio and MG Motor India that plans to change car technology completely. It brings unique features like the MG Store, which you can use for entertainment, gaming and learning. It equips you with voice commands in six Indian languages. One more interesting feature of this merger is a Home-to-Car functionality that allows you to keep updated with your car's information at home through your Jio set-top box.
Project REVIVE
Project Revive works on the concerns related to how the batteries of EVs are used after their lifetime. It intends to repurpose these batteries in partnership with TERI and Lohum. In this project, MG plans to extract healthy battery components that will be used to create energy solutions for various schools and community centres. If successful, it could lead to both the reduction of waste and also the provision of constant power to underserved communities. They have set up a pilot of this project at a Mukteshwar school in Nainital using solar panels and batteries.
EVPEDIA
Yes, it is exactly what its name suggests: an encyclopaedia of EVs. You can get all the information related to EVs on this website by MG. It uses multiple methods, such as blogs, videos, and others. Adding to these are handy tools like the cost of ownership tools and calculators, a collection of government policies, and multiple publications and research papers to help with your EV purchase. Keeping up with the AI hype, it also gets 'eVir', which MG claims is an EV AI-powered chatbot which serves as an EV expert. You can ask all of your questions related to EVs for simple answers.
