SUVs are all about road presence, especially with competitors like Toyota Fortuner in the Indian market; one needs to up its game with the desirability factor. MG Motors India has today launched the Blackstorm edition of its premium SUV, Gloster, to address the sensual appeal with an all-black exterior and interior theme. The special edition is no different than the outgoing standard version, apart from a few cosmetic changes.
MG Gloster Blackstrom Edition: Exterior
On the outside, with its all-black theme, Gloster looks quite intimidating. Blackstorm edition gets two paint options- Metal Black and Metal Ash. Alloys, roof rails, tail-lamp, headlamp housing, window trim and fog lamp housing get an all-black treatment. It also gets a newly designed blacked-out front grille, now sporting a hexagonal mesh pattern instead of the chrome slat on the standard trim. Red accents are also used – on the headlamps, brake callipers, front and rear bumpers and even wing mirrors. MG Motor India used the same strategy that had been earlier opted by Tata, Volkswagen and Maruti Suzuki. Tata Motors is well-known for launching a special edition of its already exciting portfolio.
MG Gloster Blackstrom Edition: Interior
The black treatment is carried on the inside, with the dashboard and upholstery finished in black and red accents, instead of the standard black and tan brown theme. The red stitching is quite evident on the dashboard layout. An all-black layout with red stitching makes it quite bold on the inside.
