Mercedes India on Launch Spree in 2024, 9 New cars including EVs to be launched

Mercedes has planned a busy 2024. They will go all out with their launches and facelifts. They have announced they will launch nine new cars this year. This portfolio will consist of at least two new AMG models and double the number of EV offerings.

The Two e-Performance Giants

The Mercedes-AMG S 63 e-Performance and C 63 S e-Performance will be the talk of the town this year. Both models made their initial appearance in the final stages of 2022, finding their base in the latest and greatest Mercedes models. Mercedes claimed to use the hybrid technology initially used in Formula 1.

The C 63 S e-Performance has a combined output of 680hp and 1,020Nm torque. This was sourced from a 476hp, 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine aided by a 204hp electric motor that uses power from a 6.1kWh battery. The S 63 e-Performance has a combined output 802hp and 1,430Nm of torque. The engine used was the updated twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine. This engine was supported by a rear-axle-mounted asynchronous electric motor that derives its power from a 13.1kWh lithium-ion battery. The gear changes were handled by a 9-speed automatic that sent the engine’s power to the wheels through a 4Matic+ AWD system. They follow the AMG design language, infotainment, and aerodynamic touches.

We expect models that will co from Mercedes St above 1.5 Lamore than from Mercede2024.

More ICE and EVs Expected

According to Santosh Iyer, MD and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, a new E-class will be launched this year. This will be after a short window during which the present E-class will be discontinued. They will also bring out three EVs in 2024, including the Maybach EQS.

Models will Ride on a High

This is the perfect year for Mercedes to try out new models, as they are undergoing one of the best if not the best, times it has seen in India. March 2024 was their most successful year, with 2,827 cars being sold. Combine this with them achieving the highest sales figures in the quarter and the year. The new models will have pressure to take this growth trajectory forward.
