Mercedes-Benz Launches AMG GLC 43 Coupe at 1.10 Crore

Mercedes has launched its AMG GLC 43 Coupe at the price of Rs 1.10 Lakh in India. It is a part of the 6 cars that Mercedes planned to launch in a 6-month tenure this year. The GLC 43 Coupe changes its powertrain along with some aesthetic changes in this version. This will be a completely built unit (CBU) for the Indian market. How does it look? What are its features? What is under the hood? Find out all these answers ahead.

Design of AMG GLC 43 Coupe

The GLC 43 has a stylish, coupe-like roofline, a GLC-like front, and the design add-ons you expect from AMGs. The front has LED headlights, massive air inlets and vertical metal strips. The AMG design elements include an AMG-centric grille, bold front and rear bumpers, AMG-centric side skirts, a prominent rear diffuser, four exhaust pipes, two on each side and 21-inch alloys to ride on. These combined give the SUV a sporty and confident appeal.

Interior of AMG GLC 43 Coupe

The interior is not very different from the standard GLC except for some AMG bits. These include an AMG steering wheel, sports seats covered with Nappa Leather, lighted door sills, AMG badged pedals, and floor mats. The instrument cluster and infotainment panel also get software with AMG graphics. The regular features of the SUV include a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an 11.9-inch infotainment panel, cruise control, a 360-degree camera, wireless charging, panoramic sunroof and a 15 speaker, 710W Burmester Sound system.

Powertrain of AMG GLC 43 Coupe

The AMG GLC 43 4Matic replaces its 3.0-litre twin-turbo, a 6-cylinder powerhouse with a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine featuring a 48V mild-hybrid technology. This powertrain delivers 415 bhp and 500 Nm. In real-world acceleration numbers, Mercedes claims it can accelerate from 0 to 100kph in 4.7 seconds, with a top speed electronically capped at 250 kmph. The engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission, providing power to all four wheels through an AWD drivetrain. Standard features include rear-wheel steering, high-performance brakes, speed-sensitive steering, and adjustable suspension dampers.

Price and Competition of AMG GLC 43 Coupe

As stated earlier, the AMG GLC 43 4Matic is priced at 1.10 Lakh (ex-showroom). This SUV locks horns with the X3 M40i, which is cheaper than with a 87.70 Lakh price tag.

Would you pick this SUV over the X3?
