Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV Launched | Priced At Rs 1.39 Crores

There are two spectrums of electric cars that are driving the adaptation of electric mobility in India. On one end, we have Tata Nexon.ev, MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona, and on the other hand, we have extravagant e-cars from luxury car makers with even bigger battery packs. One such electric car that lands on our shores today is the Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV at Rs. 1.39 crores (ex-showroom). EQE SUV is the third offering from the Mercedes-Benz stable after EQS and EQB. Globally, it also has a sedan sibling in the form of the EQE sedan. It will be available only in one top-of-the-line 500 4Matic trim.

By looks itself, it is quite recognisable as their EQ line of products. As the Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV is built on the company's EVA (electric vehicle architecture) platform, it is rightly optimised with aerodynamics and efficiency. The front is heavily dominated by an LED light strip connecting the digital LED headlights, with a three-pointed star incorporated into the black panel, making it look quite sleek and striking. Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV is 4863mm long, 1940mm wide, and 1686mm tall. One can choose 21-inch wheels as an option, while the standard for the EQE SUV is 20-inch wheels. In terms of features, well, it's a Mercedes-Benz, so the plethora of tech and luxury on offer is immense. Three screens together combined to form a 56-inch hyperscreen is the talk of the town, which takes centre stage of the dashboard. It gets a Burmester sound system, a four-zone climate control system, and ADAS functionality that includes lane keep assist, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, parking assist and more.

Regarding battery capacity, the EQE SUV gets a 90.56kWh pack with a claimed WLTP range of 550km. It gets a  dual motor setup that produces 407hp of power and 858Nm of torque. The SUV is equipped with all-wheel drive and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in only 4 seconds, reaching a top speed of 210 km/h.

The Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV will come with a 10-year or 2.5 lakh km warranty for the battery pack. The battery architecture supports DC fast charging up to 170kW, which can juice up the battery from 10-80 percent in 32 min, provided no voltage fluctuations. The car will be sold in India via a CBU unit and will go up against the newly launched Audi Q8 e-tron, the Jaguar i-Pace, and the BMW iX. To know more about the Audi Q8 e-tron, click here.
