Maserati has launched the Grecale SUV in India at 1.31 Crore. It will be available in 3 variants: the GT, Modena and Trofeo. The Grecale sits below the Levante and will lock horns with the Porsche Macan. This SUV, along with other models of the Italian manufacturer, will be soon available in Bengaluru and Delhi, with the Delhi showroom inauguration around the corner. Maserati will not expand in the service network as they have no plans to take support from Stellantis, their parent company.
Maserati Grecale GT
The Grecale GT is the most affordable variant, costing 1.31 Crore (ex-showroom).
Design
This model features LED headlights, chrome on the grill, dual exhaust tips, multiple paint options, and 19-inch alloy wheels.
Interior
The interior features a 12-inch digital instrument panel, a 12-inch infotainment screen, and the option of a Heads-up display. There is also a dual-zone climate control system that can be adjusted through an 8-inch touch panel. Other features include aluminium paddle shifters, a 14-inch music system, and an ADAS level 1 suite for safety.
Powertrain
It is powered by a 2L 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol mill that produces 296 bhp. This engine is supported by a mild hybrid system; an 8-speed automatic gearbox handles the transmission duties. How fast can it accelerate the GT? 0-100 kmph in 5.6 seconds fast.
Grecale Modena
The Modena sits between the top Trofeo and the GT. It gets a price tag of Rs 1.53 Crore.
Design
On the outside, it looks similar to the GT, with changes like 20-inch alloys and blackened styling bits replacing the chrome to give it a unique look. It has functional elements like a limited-slip differential and adaptive suspension, along with aesthetics.
Interior
The Modena adds luxury to the GT variant's already feature-rich list. These luxury touches include heated and adjustable sports seats, a leather interior, and a 3-zone climate control instead of the 2-on GT.
Powertrain
The Modena variant derives its power from the same 2.0L engine on the GT. Still, it gets a higher tuning, which helps it produce 325 bhp. This tune makes it 0.3 seconds faster than the GT, recording a 5.3-second time for a 0-100 km/h sprint.
Grecale Trofeo
The Trofeo will be the heaviest to your pocket with its heavy price of 2.05 Crore.
Design
The Trofeo's front design is the sportiest of the three variants. It gets more aggressive front and rear bumpers, different side skirts, and bits of carbon fibre on the inside. It rides on 21-inch wheels that house brake callipers with red highlights.
Interior
The interior of the Trofeo is the same as that of the Modena, except for the carbon fibre styling we discussed.
Powertrain
The engine under the hood of the Trofeo is the most capable of the lot. It is a 3-0L turbocharged V6 petrol guzzler that churns out 523 bhp. This engine can reach 100 kmph from a dead stop in a mere 3.8 seconds.
