Mahindra has teased the 3XO with a teaser. Some time back, we had news that Mahindra had trademarked the names 7XO, 5XO, 3XO, and 1XO. The 3XO was the name of the XUV300 facelift. While we may see a full-fledged launch soon, here's what we saw on the teaser.
Glimpses of Interior
The teaser has some striking elements, such as leatherette upholstery, seat stitching, speakers, and a faint look of the infotainment display on the interior front. This is likely the 10.25-inch panel we recently saw on the XUV400. If that is to go by, it will get wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay. It will be interesting to see if Mahindra equips it with the Adrenox-connected car tech with 60 safety, connectivity and comfort features. One feature Mahindra might add to the 3XO to set it apart would be ADAS. This safety feature is only in the segment's Hyundai Kia siblings, Venue and Sonet. Will Mahindra offer a level 1 ADAS with the 3XO?
Design Updates
The glimpse of the front seems similar to the current design, with the headlights coupled with a grill with chrome elements. The rear feels completely redone with two C-shaped LED DRLs connected with a light bar in the centre. This feels like Mahindra's entry into the connected DRL trend. Below this lightbar is the Mahindra logo and an XUV 3XO badge
Powertrain Talk
The 3XO is likely to continue its predecessor's engine options with the addition of an automatic transmission. This means that you will get two engine options. The first is a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 109 hp and 200 Nm of torque. The second option is a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine that produces 115 hp and 300 Nm of torque. We may also see an electrified version of the SUV soon.
Welcome Change
We have all been awaiting the Overhaul of the XUV300 for a long time. The Subcompact SUV that reigned supreme in its initial years saw itself become outdated, with the competitors getting more and more features in new generations. We expect the 3XO to get an 80 thousand bump in price over the XUV300.
Can this updated XUV300 or XUV3XO make its place in the most competitive sub-compact SUV segment compared to Nexon, Venue, and Sonet?
