Mahindra has added a new variant to the XUV700 as the AX5 Select. Mahindra XUV700 is currently one of the most sought-after 7-seaters in the Indian auto market. Mahindra wants to make it an even better package by adding one more option for the buyers to choose from while buying the XUV700. Let's find out what this new variant comes with.
Features of the Mahindra XUV700 AX5 Select
The XUV700 AX5 Select is a step above the AX3 variant, offering a seven-seat layout and a host of advanced features. These include a panoramic sunroof (or 'skyroof ', as Mahindra fondly calls it), Dual 10.25 HD screens for infotainment and driver information, and a convenient Push-Button Start/Stop function.
Engines Powering Mahindra XUV700 AX5 Select
The XUV700 AX5 Select has both petrol and diesel powertrains. The petrol engine is a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 200 hp and 380 Nm of torque. It is mated to either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter. The price of the MT is 16.89 Lakh (ex-showroom). The automatic variant costs 1.6 lakhs more.
The diesel guzzler has a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine capable of producing 155 hp and 360 Nm. It comes with the same transmissions as the petrol: a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter. The price of the MT is 17.49 Lakhs, while the automatic is 1.6 lakhs more expensive.
Alternatives to the Mahindra XUV700
The Mahindra XUV700 contests in a highly competitive segment that features cars like the MG Hector and Hector Plus, Tata Harrier and Safari, Hyundai Alcazar and Jeep Compass. To help make the XUV700 a better buy, Mahindra has claimed that they have vastly increased the production capacity, bringing down the wait times, the biggest complaint about Mahindra cars. Depending on the variant, they claim it will come down to four to eight weeks.
