So, Lamborghini’s just dropped a bomb. The V10 is on its way out, and the Temerario is the bat out of hell that’s supposed to fill the Huracan’s insanely big shoes. We’re not sure if it’s up to the task, but it’s certainly trying its hardest.
First off, let’s talk about the engine. A twin-turbo V8 that revs to 10,000rpm? And Lambo claims it’s nothing like the boring old VW Group stuff. We’ll believe it when we hear it.
Then there’s the electric bit. Three motors. Three. And they add a whopping 295bhp to the party. Combined with the petrol engine, you’re looking at 907bhp in a car that’s supposed to be an entry-level supercar. Entry-level!
The performance figures are, as you’d expect, utterly ridiculous. 0-100kmph in 2.7 seconds? And top speed? Well, let’s just say it’s enough to get you a one-way ticket to the moon.
We’re told it sounds like a banshee on steroids, but we’ll reserve judgment until we’ve got our hands on one. And while the idea of a quiet, electric Lamborghini is about as appealing as a vegan steak, we suppose it’s handy for sneaking around the neighbours.
On the inside it’s got leather and electric seats. So, it's a step up from a cardboard box, we suppose. But let’s be honest, you’re not buying a Lambo for the interior. You’re buying it for the noise, the speed, and the ability to make people’s jaws drop.
So, does it replace the Huracan? We don’t know yet. But one thing’s for sure: the Temerario is a bonkers piece of kit that’s going to make a lot of people very, very jealous.
