Lamborghini Huracan Successor Teased: To Be Revealed on August 16

Lamborghini has released a teaser that shows the silhouette of the Huracan Successor. A picture of the upcoming model’s silhouette was shared by Mitja Borkert, the design director of Lamborghini. With an expected name Temerario, it will be the third hybrid car from the Italian automaker. It will be revealed on August 16 in the Monterey Car Week.

Powertrain of Lamborghini Temerario

The Temerario is likely to do away with the naturally aspirated V10 of Lamborghini (you will be missed legend). Instead of that, it will get a twin turbocharged V8 engine that is supported by an electric motor. This is a 4.0 liter mill that produces 789bhp and 730 Nm of torque. The juicy part of this engine is that it will rev at 10,000rpm. To support the mean V8, Lamborghini has added  electric motors that together produce an output of 149 bhp and 300 Nm. Lamborghini has not revealed the battery specs of these motors. It will share its transmission with the Revuelto in the form of the eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. This means the total output of the powertrain will be around 900 bhp.

Design of Lamborghini Temerario

If the test mules of the model are to go by, the Temerario will look very similar to Lamborghini’s Revuelto. The shared design elements include the Y-shaped patterns on the front bumper, similar front and rear lights and similar alloy wheels. On the rear is a hexagonal end element along with a rear diffuser on the bottom. The tyres are also exposed from the rear.

Spy shots of the model on test showed that a number of styling elements will be shared with Lamborghini’s flagship, the Revuelto – the Y-shaped motifs on the bumpers, the lights (front and rear), and the wheels. The rear of the supercar had a high-mounted hexagonal end can and a prominent rear diffuser with scooped-out edges that expose the wheels.

About the Lamborghini Revuelto

The Temerario will share a lot of design and powertrain elements with the Revuelto. This was the car that started the hybrid era of the Italian automaker. It combines a 6.5-liter V12 engine with three electric motors for a total output of 1,001 horsepower. This powerhouse accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 2.5 seconds, with a top speed of 350 km/h. Its design is characterised by sharp, aggressive lines and extensive use of carbon fiber. Inside, a luxurious cabin gets an infotainment panel and driver-assistance features.
