Kia Seltos Facelfited in the US: Starts at Rs 20.4 Lakhs

Kia has updated the Kia Seltos in the USA to make it more competitive against its rivals. Its new price is Rs 20.4 Lakhs (Rs 24,500), up by only Rs 8300 ($100). It does not get many revolutionary changes and sticks to a more revisionary approach. You will find some new features and some upgrades to trims.

The facelifted Seltos gets a bolder look with a grille surrounded by new LED headlights. The front bumper also gets minor updates with more boxy proportions. On the rear, the taillights get a fresh design, with a lightbar across the length connecting them. The rear bumper is also updated. On the sides are 17-inch two-tone alloys on the X-trim.

Kia has promised an updated, feature-rich interior for the new Seltos. Its features include two 10.25-inch screens for infotainment and driver instruments, six airbags, a 360-degree camera, dual-zone climate control, a head-up display, and an 8-speaker music system. Kia Seltos 2025 also offers the Parking Distance Warning-Reverse (PDW-R) feature as the standard on trim EX and SX to improve the assistance function for drivers.

When it comes to the engine, the Kia Seltos 2025 is the same as its predecessor. It uses the same 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine that churns out a power output of 146 bhp and 179 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a CVT automatic gearbox unit. To accelerate to 100 km/h from a dead stop, the Seltos takes 9.3 seconds in the FWD drivetrain and 10.1 seconds with AWD.

There is an option of a more powerful engine option that is only available with the SX and X Line trims. This is a 1.6-litre Turbocharged engine that can produce about 195 bhp of power and 264 Nm of torque. This engine gets an 8-speed automatic transmission and standard AWD. This powertrain can hit a speed of 100 km/h from a standstill in 8.4 seconds. 

Price and Competition of Kia Seltos 2025

The Kia Seltos 2025 in the USA starts at Rs 20.4 lakh ($25,090) and goes to a maximum price of Rs 26 lakh ($31,090). This puts it in direct rivalry with cars like the Subaru Crosstrek, Honda HR-V, Hyundai Kona, Chevy Trailblazer, Buick Encore,  Jeep Renegade and Mazda CX-30. 

With the Kia Seltos being updated in India in 2023, we do not expect it to be facelifted again soon.
