Despite diesel engines being a dying breed in India, certain manufacturers have gone the extra mile to offer diesel engine options in their line-up, making them a true asset to consumers who prefer diesel engines. Kia India launched the facelifted Seltos a few months ago. To read more about the Seltos, click here.
Kia has launched a diesel+manual combination of powertrains for the new Seltos, which can be available in 5 different trims - HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX, and HTX+. Kia Seltos has a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine that churns out 112 horsepower and 250 Nm of peak torque. Earlier, the engine came mated with either a six-speed iMT or a six-speed torque converter. Now, with the further addition of a 6-speed manual, consumers have the option to choose from three different gearbox options. Cool, yeah! The prices for 6-MT start at 12 lakhs for the base HTE trim and go up to 18.28 lakhs for the top-end HTX+ variant.
"We always believe in empowering consumers with choices when it comes to drive experience. A lot of customers wanted to experience the joy of shifting gears, and hence, we are introducing 6-speed manual transmission in 5 Seltos diesel variants for true enthusiasts who love to have full control on the road. This inclusion in the new Seltos will make its positioning as the smartest, safest driving experience even stronger" , says Mr. Myung-sik Sohn, Chief Sales and Business Strategy Officer, Kia India.
