Hyundai Venue Gets New Sunroof Equipped S(O)+ Variant at Rs 9.99 Lakh

Hyundai has added another variant to its popular compact SUV Venue. This variant called the S(O)+, brings an electric sunroof along with all the features and parts found in the S(O) variant of the car. The price tag of this variant is Rs 9,99,900 (ex-showroom), which is Rs 12,000 more than the price of the S(O) variant. 

Exterior Features of the Venue S(O)+ Variant

The S(O)+ adds the electric sunroof to the features of the S(O) variant of the SUV, keeping all the other features intact. The external feature list of the variant includes a Smart Electric sunroof, LED DRLs, LED projector headlamps, and 15-inch steel wheels.

On the inside, it has the standard grey and black theme. The car's cabin features include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment panel that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay, a digital instrument cluster with a colour TFT Multi-Information Display (MID), and a height-adjustable driver seat. It also scores well on the features front with features like six airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system, Automatic headlamps, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC), and a rear camera. 

Powertrain of the Venue S(O)+ variant

Under the hood of the Venue S(O)+ is a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated Kappa petrol engine that churns out 82 bhp and 113 Nm of maximum torque. For transmission duties, the engine is mated with a 5-speed manual transmission. Hyundai has not been informed if this variant will also get the turbo-petrol engine of the Venue. That engine produces a power output of 118 bhp and 173 Nm of torque. 

Price and Competition of the Venue  

The new variant will not make any change to the overall price of the Venue, which currently sells in the price range of Rs 7.94 lakh to Rs 13.44 lakh (ex-showroom). It is present in a highly competitive segment of the compact SUVs in India with competitors like the Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 3XO,  Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor and Maruti Fronx. A new entrant that is soon to join this race is the Skoda Compact SUV, the name of which will be announced soon. 

The new variant may help boost Hyundai's sales, which dipped 3% year over year in July 2024.
