Hyundai Ioniq 5 N Time Attack is Hotter and Mightier

Hyundai has made its preparations for the 24 Hours of Nurburgring with the Ioniq 5N Time Attack variant. This version will participate in the  Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb the following month. It is both more powerful and more aggressive in its design compared to the already powerful Ioniq 5 N. Here is all you need to know about it.

Performance and Range of Ioniq 5 N TA

Hyundai has done some software magic with the powertrain of the Ioniq 5 N TA to give it a better power output than the standard Ioniq 5 N. How high? 37 hp, taking its max power output number to 687. This makes it the most powerful Ioniq 5 ever.

Behind all this performance is the same 84 kWh battery pack found in the standard Ioniq 5 N. We don't know its range yet, but it might be lower than the 448 km that the standard one gets. The standard Ioniq 5 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and can reach 260 km/h.

When it comes to charging it supports 800V and 400V multi-charging system which allows maximum charging speed: 350 kW. This claimed charging time is of 10-80% in 18 minutes.

Design and Other Changes in the Ioniq 5 N TA

The Ioniq 5 N TA gets a unique 'N' design livery, giving it a meaner, hotter look. Hyundai has added an N Active Sound+ system that enhances driver feedback and replaces sirens in electric Pikes Peak race cars. With Pikes Peaks in mind, Hyundai has introduced fresh shock absorbers, 18-inch Yokohama ADVAN 005 slick tyres, and special brakes. It also comes with a high-downforce aerodynamic package, adding a front splitter and a large rear wing, among others.

To ensure passengers' safety, Hyundai has added a Recaro Pro Racer SPA Hans seat, a PPIHC specification roll cage Sabelt six-point Hans safety harness, and an EV fire suppression system.
