Hyundai Alcazar Facelift Revealed in India, Bookings Open!

Hyundai has shown the first photos of the Alcazar 2024 facelift. While the car will be launched on September 9, users can book it right now by paying an amount of 25,000. This facelift brings it even closer to the Hyundai Creta 2024 in both design and features.

Design of Alcazar Facelift

The Alcazar 2024 brings a lot of changes on the design front, which majorly seem inspired by the facelifted Creta. The changes start at the front, where the SUV now gets an ‘H’ shaped DRL, which is connected by an LED bar like the Creta and Verna. The new grille is similar to the Creta, but it has horizontal strips along with multiple hexagonal inserts, unlike the matrix design on the Creta. It has two Quad Beam LED headlamps on either side and below is a new bumper and new skid plate. On the side, you will notice diamond-cut alloy wheels that are 18 inches in size, along with black cladding and roof rails. The rear contents of two LED Tail lamps connected with a lightbar like on the front. These together seem to make a ‘H’ (5 ‘H’s in one car, wow). The tailgate and spoilers on the rear are also new. Hyundai will offer the Alcazar with 9 colour options, including a Robust Emerald Matte.

Interior of the Alcazar Facelift

Hyundai has not yet released any images of the interior, but they claim it will have an ‘upmarket and dynamic feel’. One thing they did reveal is that the new Alcazar will offer the 6 or 7-seat options like the previous generation. We expect other aspects of the interior to be shared with the Creta. These would include two 10.25-inch panels used for infotainment and driving details, an air purifier, ventilated seats, a wireless phone charger,  ambient lighting, an electrically powered driver’s seat and an electronic parking brake. Hyundai said it will be equipped with 40 standard safety features and over 70 total safety features, including an ADAS suite.

Powertrain of Alcazar Facelift

The Alcazar will get 2 of the 3 engine options available in the Creta. One is a petrol mill, and the other is a diesel unit. The petrol is a 1.5-litre turbocharged powerhouse that produces 158 bhp and 253 Nm of torque. This engine can be mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. On the other hand, the diesel is a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine that is capable of producing a power output of 113 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. This engine can be paired with either the same 6-speed manual as the petrol or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

Variants and Rivals of Alcazar Facelift

There will be 4 variants of the 7-seater SUV: Executive, Prestige, Platinum and Signature. It will continue to rival SUVs like the Mahindra XUV700, Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, Kia Carens, and the Mahindra Scorpio-N.

With Alcazar long struggling in sales, do you think this facelift will change its fate?
