Hyundai has facelifted the Alcazar in India for an updated price of Rs. The updated SUV gets a major overhaul on various fronts that bring it on par with the 2024 Creta. This is a much-needed facelift as the SUV has struggled to match the sales of its rivals this year. Here is all you need to know about it.
Design of Alcazar Facelift
The Alcazar 2024 has a resounding resemblance to its 5-seater sibling, Creta. It looks completely different from the outgoing model. On the front, it gets new 'H' shaped DRLs that are connected by a light bar. This H shape and connected lights are a growing trend in Hyundai vehicles. Its new grille gets horizontal slats on the outside, complemented by hexagonal design bits inside it. The grille also features a front camera. The headlamps are Quad Beam LEDs placed above the new bumper and skid plate. On the side, it gets newly designed 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. Other new bids on the side include the black cladding and roof rails. The rear also has a light bar that connects the two LED Tail lamps. The whole structure has an 'H' '-like shape. The tailgate and spoilers on the rear also get updates. You can buy the new Alcazar with 9 colour options. These include Robust Emerald Matte, Titan Grey Matte, Robust Emerald, Starry Night, Ranger Khakhi, Fiery Red, Abyss Black, Atlas White and 1 dual-tone colour option available in Atlas White with Black Roof.
Interior of the Alcazar Facelift
On the inside, the Alcazar looks quite different with its dual-tone brown and navy colour. Behind these aesthetics, however, it is pretty similar to the Creta. It firstly continues the 6 and 7-seater options like its predecessor. Like the Creta, it features two 10.25-inch panels used for infotainment and as the driving instrument cluster. Below them is a glossy black panel that gets buttons to control the automatic air conditioning and media. The gear lever, steering and magnetic panel are all shared with the Creta. Other features of the SUV include powered driver seat with memory function, dual-zone climate control, rain-sensing wipers, 8-speaker Bose sound system, Voice enabled Panoramic Sunroof, 1st & 2nd row wireless charger, digital key, smart cruise control and an electronic parking brake. Hyundai said it is equipped with 40 standard safety features and over 70 total safety features. These include 6 airbags, a level 2 ADAS suite, Hill-Start Assist Control, Electronic Stability Control, Vehicle Stability Management, all four disc brakes and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
Powertrain of Alcazar Facelift
The Alcazar is available with 1 petrol and 1 diesel engine. The petrol version is a 1.5-litre turbocharged mill that produces 158 bhp and 253 Nm of torque. This engine can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. On the other hand, the diesel trim is a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated powerhouse that churns out a power output of 114 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. This engine can be mated with either the same 6-speed manual as the petrol or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
Variants and Rivals of Alcazar Facelift
The 7-seater SUV is available in four variants: Executive, Prestige, Platinum, and Signature. It will continue to compete with SUVs like the Mahindra XUV700, Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, Kia Carens, and the Mahindra Scorpio-N.
