Ford has unveiled the Ford Everest Tremor, the most off-road-ready version of the SUV in Australia. This SUV brings a comprehensive set of changes to make it a behemoth when it comes to off-roading capabilities. For reference, the Everest is the same model that used to be sold in India as the Ford Endeavour before It exited the country. It might also be the model that would help Ford re-enter the Indian market.
Off-Roading at Core of Ford Everest Tremor
The Ford Everest Tremor bring mechanical changes to make it ready for all types of terrain. These changes include an improvement in the suspension, underbody protection, some aesthetic changes and off-road tyres. These tyres are General Grabber AT3 All-Terrain tyres that cover the 17-inch blackened alloy wheels. It also gets position-sensitive Bilstein Dampers, Black wheel arch moulding and a lift kit. Even after that, the towing capacity of the SUV remained the same at 3.5 tonnes.
Visual Changes of Ford Everest Tremor
On the design front, the Everest Tremor gets a new grille along with auxiliary LED lights surrounding it. Along with that, it gets a steel plate and front two hooks. If this also is not enough, the users can opt for a Rough Terrain Pack. This pack adds an auxiliary switch bank, an ARB Stealth Bar at the front and ARB Under Vehicle Armour. On the inside, it gets premium ebony leather-accented seats that have a Tremor logo engraved on them. The floor mats are also the all-weather type. The front doors also get a Tremor badge.
Powertrain of Ford Everest Tremor
Under the hood of the Everest Tremor is a 3.0-litre V6 diesel powerhouse that is capable of producing 247 bhp and 600 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission that transfers the power to all the four wheels. It gets a new Rock Crawl drive mode along with the six on and off-road drive modes present in the standard Everest.
Price of Ford Everest Tremor
The Everest Tremor gets a price tag of Rs 46.94 lakh ($83,303) in the Australian market in its standard form. While the Tremor division might not make it, we expect the Everest to enter India around the end of next year. It will be a strong rival to the Toyota Fortuner, which has overshadowed its competitors like the Skoda Kodiaq, MG Gloster, Jeep Meridian and Nissan X-Trail.
