Jaguar Land Rover India launched the updated Discovery Sport, prices of which start from 67.9 lakhs (ex-showroom). It will be available only in the Dynamic SE trim with two engine options. There is a 2.0-litre petrol engine that churns out 245bhp of peak power and 365Nm of peak torque. Discovery Sport will also be available in a diesel mill that produces 201bhp of power and 430Nm of torque.
In terms of design, the only significant update is the new gloss black finish on exterior accents, including the contrast roof, grille, lower body sills, and lower bumpers. The 19-inch alloy wheels get a diamond-turned finish; there is also an addition of Varesine Blue colour for the exterior. The significant update, though, is in terms of interiors, wherein it now has a redesigned and simplified centre console with an 11.4-inch curved glass touchscreen. The latest Pivi Pro infotainment set-up features permanently accessible sidebars, which provide shortcuts to critical vehicle controls and functions, such as media, volume, climate and navigation. Discovery Sport now gets a new gear shifter surrounded by a natural shadow oak trim finisher and an elegant three-spoke multi-function steering wheel. It will also have DuoLeather interiors with up to two colour options.
On the features front, apart from wireless smartphone connectivity, leather interiors, wireless charging, two USB-C chargers, and climate control even for the third row. It also gets a 3D surround camera, which offers a bunch of attributes, including ClearSight Ground View, which offers feeds viewed on the touchscreen, and ClearSight Rear View Mirror, which provides an unobstructed view behind the vehicle. Land Rover Discovery Sport goes against Mercedes-Benz GLC, Audi Q5, Volvo XC60, and BMW X3.
