Hyundai has recently revealed the latest iteration of the Grand i10 Nios. Post facelift, the car now carries a new exterior design and a host of new features for both tech & safety. Bookings have already commenced for a sum of INR 11,000/- and pricing for the car is anticipated to be revealed during the Auto Expo 2023, where the car will also be on display.
The front fascia is where the most significant update can be noticed. The Grand i10 Nios update gives it a new front bumper that houses a more prominent black grille. On either side of the grill are the new tri-arrow-shaped LED DRLs and sporty-looking side intakes. The hatchback now gets 15-Inch alloy wheels. The Grand i10 Nios now gets new LED tail lights connected by a lightbar at the back.
The new facelifted Grand i10 Nios will now be available in six monotone colour options - Polar White, Titan Grey, Typhoon Silver, Spark Green (New Exclusive), Teal Blue & Fiery Red; as well as two dual-tone colour options – Spark Green with black roof & Polar White with black roof.
The interiors remain essentially the same in terms of layout. The hatchback now gets new grey upholstery on the seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, new footwell lighting and metal finishing on the inside door handles.
The Grand i10 Nios retains all its previous tech features and gains some more. These include automatic headlamps, cruise control, TPMS and a Type-C USB Port. Regarding safety, the Grand i10 Nios now gets four airbags, ABS & EBD as standard. Optional safety features include ESC, ISOFIX child seat mounts, day/night IRVM & six airbags.
In terms of what’s under the hood, the Grand i10 continues with its same 1.2L petrol powertrain that can be had with either a 5-Speed MT or AMT. This petrol powertrain produces 83Hp and 114Nm of torque. Additionally, the new Grand i10 Nios gets a factory-fitted CNG kit with the 1.2L petrol engine mated to a 5-speed MT. The CNG kit powertrain produces 69Hp and 95Nm of torque. The turbo petrol powertrain that was available with the Grand i10 Nios previously has, however, been discontinued. It will no longer be available with the facelift.
With price expectations ranging from INR 6 lakh-INR 9 lakh rupees (Ex-Showroom), the facelifted Grand i10 Nios will combat the Tata Tiago and the Maruti Suzuki Swift.
