Ducati has launched the Panigale V4 and the Panigale V4S for Rs 29.99 lakh and 36.50 lakh, respectively. The updated Panigale is heavily inspired by the company's championship-winning MotoGP motorcycle. Both motorcycles are identical, but the V4S is 4 kg lighter thanks to a range of lighter and premium materials.
Powertrain
Both motorcycles are powered by a 1,103 cc V4 liquid-cooled engine that produces 213 bhp at 13,500rpm and a peak torque of 120.9 Nm at 11,250rpm. The peak torque is down by 2.7Nm compared to the outgoing model, but now it produces peak torque a bit lower down the rev range.
Difference Between V4 and the V4S
Visually both the motorcycles remain identical. The V4S gets a range of equipment such as:
-
Lighter Aluminium Wheels
-
Ohlins Electric Suspension
-
Lithium-ion battery
This makes the V4S lighter by 4 kg, resulting in a dry weight of 187 kg compared to the V4’s 191 kg.
Safety Equipment
Ducati didn’t hold back when it comes to safety and both the motorcycles get the same safety equipment:
-
Riding Modes
-
Power Modes
-
Race eCBS
-
Ducati Vehicle Observer
-
Ducati Traction Control
-
Ducati Wheelie Control
-
Ducati Slide Control
-
Engine Brake Control
-
Ducati Brake Light
-
Chain Guard
Both motorcycles have all the safety features.
Standard Equipment
On a machine this powerful you are bound to get a lot of equipment as standard, like the up/down quick shifter, the Ducati launch control, auto-off indicators and forged aluminium wheels (only on the V4S). This equipment makes living with the motorcycle easier and improves rider comfort.
Conclusion
Overall, the Ducati Panigale V4 and the V4S are superb motorcycles with top-of-the-line features and components. With the first slot of the motorcycle also sold out, the Panigale is set to make an impression on the Indian roads. The Panigale competes with the iconic German built BMW S 1000 RR.
