Citroen C3 and C3 Aircross Get New Features

Citroen products in India have not fared very well in their segments, and a substantial reason for this is its lack of features. To address this issue, Citroen has decided to update the feature list of the C3 and the C3 Aircross during the launch event of the Basalt SUV. What are these features? What is the new price? New Features of C3 Aircross

The new version of the C3 Aircross includes LED projector headlights, automatic climate control, a larger sliding front armrest, a flip-style key, and six airbags. 

One peculiar change that the C3 Aircross has made is that they have moved the rear power window switches from between the front seats to the rear doors. This makes it way more convenient for the rear passengers. 

New Features of the C3

The features added to the C3 include a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, automatic side rear-view mirrors, and six airbags. These are in addition to the pre-existing features like LED DRLs and a 10-inch infotainment panel with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, but it still lacks a start-stop button. 

Powertrain of the C3 Aircross

The powertrain sees no changes even after the features are updated. It derives its power from a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged engine that churns out 109 bhp of power and 205 Nm of torque. This engine is mated with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

The Citroen C3 offers two powertrain options to users. The first is a  1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 81 bhp of power and 115 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The other option is a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that is capable of producing 108 bhp of power and 190 Nm of torque while being paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Price and Competition

Due to the added features on the models, the C3 and C3 Aircross are expected to get a price bump. The C3 competes with cars like the Maruti Suzuki WagonR, Tata Tiago, and Maruti Suzuki Celerio. The C3 Aircross locks horns in the heated SUV segment with rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun.
