BYD eMAX 7 Will Launch On August 7: Should Innova Fear?

We have a date for the launch of the BYD eMAX7, it is October 8. As we had reported earlier, this model will be the replacement of the BYD e6 MPV.It will be a full fledged MPV with 3 rows of seating. How do we expect it to look? How will the interior be? How powerful will it be? Find answers to all those questions ahead.

Design of The BYD eMAX 7

The BYD eMAX 7 will look pretty similar to the e6 MPV in terms of the exterior design. There are some changes in the MPV however. These start with the new grille that might remind you of the Atto 3. It will have new LED taillights and will ride on new alloy wheels. It will also have updated bumpers on the front and rear.

Interior of The BYD eMAX 7

The BYD eMAX will take inspiration from the internationally available BYD M6 when it comes to the interior. It will seat 6 people and might get a dual-tone cabin like the international version. The international version also has a new dashboard that will be made of updated materials. We expect a long list of features on the eMAX7 in India that might be shared with the M6. These include a 12.8-inch rotatable infotainment screen, panoramic roof, ventilated front seats and wireless charger. To ensure the safety of passengers, it might offer six airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS),a 360-degree camera, disc brakes on all 4 wheels and a level 2 ADAS suite.

Powertrain of The BYD eMAX 7

We expect the BYD eMAX 7 to come with an updated motor that will produce 201 bhp and 310 Nm of torque. This will be a great step up from the 94 bhp and 180 Nm that the e6 got. Another aspect that will be upgraded is the battery. We expect BYD to replace the 71.7 kWh battery pack of the e6 with a 71.8 kWh one in the eMAX7. This might increase the range of the MPV from 500 km to 530 km. Expected Price And Rivals

Expected Price and Competition of The BYD eMAX 7

The expected starting ex-showroom price of the  eMAX 7 lies around the 25 to 30 lakh mark. It will be a unique proposition in the market with no direct rivals. That being said, it might entice the buyers who are looking for an electric alternative to MPVs like the Innova Crysta, Innova Hycross, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the Kia Carens
