BMW X7 Facelift Launched In India Starting At INR 1.22 Crore (Ex-Showroom)

Bayerische Motoren Werke, or BMW as we know it, has finally decided to launch the new facelifted X7 in India. The car will be locally produced at BMW’s plant in Chennai. With prices at INR 1.22 (ex-showroom) Crore for the xDrive 40i petrol version and INR 1.24 Crore (ex-showroom) for the xDrive 40d diesel version. Both versions get the M Sport package as standard.

We have already seen the facelifted X7. It gets a sporty reworked front with spilt headlights, just like the 7-series sedan. The car has 20-inch alloy wheels and a chrome strip to accentuate the side profile. The new X7 will be available in 5 colour options, Mineral White, Black Sapphire, Carbon Black, Dravit Grey and Tanzanite Blue.

The interiors are also reworked. The air vents get slimmer, with a crystal effect on the panel between them. The traditional crystal X7 gear selector has been removed to make way for a rocker knob. Moreover, the new X7 also gets BMW's latest curved infotainment screen, as seen on the iX, i4 and many other recent BMW models. The display comprises a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment screen and a 12.3-inch digital driver's display.

Additional luxury features include the standard air suspension, 14-colour ambient lighting bar, 4-zone climate control, heads-up-display (HUD), ADAS tech, sky lounge panoramic glass sunroof etc.

The facelifted X7 gets the updated 3.0L inline-6 cylinder petrol and diesel engines and a 48V mild hybrid system. The total power output for the petrol powertrain is 381Hp, along with 520Nm of torque. These figures include the 48Hp and 70Nm produced by the mild hybrid system. The diesel powertrain produces 340Hp and 700Nm of torque. Both powertrains come mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and BMW's xDrive all-wheel drive system. The new X7 also gets four drive modes, comfort, efficient, sport and sport plus.

The facelifted X7 will continue the outgoing model's battle against the Mercedes-Benz GLS. Deliveries for the new facelifted X7 will commence from March 2023.
