BMW has showcased the Concept Skytop at the Villa d’Este Concorso d'Eleganza. This model will serve as a preview of a two-seat BMW model featuring a V8 engine. This is expected to be BMW's most powerful V8. It will serve as a successor to the BMW Z8. Here is all we know about it.

Design of BMW Concept Skytop

The concept's highlight is the open-top with a removable Targa-style roof and an integral roll-over hoop, which BMW claims is a one-off design exercise. It does look ready for production, though. They said they would do it in production if the concept of Skytop were resolved. The concept is inspired by the classic BMW Gran Tourer proportions, with a long bonnet, a long wheelbase and a sloping boot at the back. On the front is BMW's signature kidney grill with two lighted elements and horizontal bands. Alongside the grille are sleek LEDs and substantial air vents. The front and back bonnets get a central divider, adding to the roadster's looks.
